Saturday's Levitt AMP Carson City concert series features soul, pop artist Remember Jones
The Brewery Arts Center continues an unforgettable summer of free outdoor music under the stars in Carson City this Saturday when soul and pop giant Remember Jones takes the downtown Minnesota Street stage.
Grab your family, friends and neighbors and head on down to Carson City and Brewery Arts Center for Levitt AMP Carson City concert series presented by The Change Companies. With seven concerts remaining, the series offers a diverse lineup of high caliber talent spanning genres like Celtic, R&B, country, rock, Latin and Brazilian.
Sponsored in part by the Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation, a private family foundation that empowers communities to transform neglected public spaces into thriving destinations through the power of free, live music, the Levitt AMP Carson City Music Series presents 10 free, family-friendly concerts to the public at the Minnesota Street Stage right in the heart of the historic district in Downtown Carson City.
This Saturday, July 14, the Minnesota Street stage will come alive at 7 p.m. for Remember Jones. Named one of Paste Magazine and Daytrotter’s “Top 10 R&B/Soul Artists of 2017,” Remember Jones is an inimitable soul and pop vocalist, bandleader and storyteller, bursting with charisma and talent that leaves audiences spellbound.

With a supporting ensemble featuring an explosive brass section, a dynamic six-piece rhythm section and soulful female backing vocals, Remember Jones’ passionate vocals take audiences through stirring covers ranging from Jeff Buckley’s seminal album Grace to Kanye West’s 808s and Heartbreak, as well as original compositions with a voice described by Styx frontman Glen Burtnik as “the vocal love child of Tom Jones and Patti LaBelle.”
Born Anthony D’amato in Brick, N.J., he first performed under the stage name ‘Remember Jones’ in 2014 as a way to present a more ‘amplified’ version of himself. By 2015, he was headlining full-length shows, treating ecstatic sold-out crowds to Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black in its entirety with a 15-piece orchestra.
Ever since, he’s been thrilling concertgoers across the eastern seaboard with his soulful renditions of crowd-favorites and innovative original compositions.
Remember Jones has received glowing write-ups from outlets including Chicago Reader, American Songwriter Magazine and BroadwayWorld.com among countless others. Jones and his band have packed popular venues including Chicago’s Lincoln Hall–in a performance that was live-streamed by Audiotree, The Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, N.J., Theatre for the Performing Arts in Patchogue, N.Y. and Infinity Hall in Norfolk, Conn.
He has directed and debuted as "Hedwig" in the award-winning musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch and was named the “Top Male Vocalist” at the Asbury Park Music Awards in New Jersey. Jones’ collaboration with Grammy-nominated guitar legend and superstar Gary Lucas in recreating Grace will lead to a highly-anticipated upcoming recordings of unreleased Jeff Buckley songs. A recording session with Daytrotter was released in 2017.
Remember Jones will actually open for themselves. At 7 p.m. they will be onstage with their take on Amy Winehouse hits and at approximately 8:15, they will take the Minnesota Street stage for their originals. You will be dancing all night long.
Also, in attendance this Saturday night will be another very special guest from PBS kids curtesy of our extensive marketing partnership with KNBP Reno.
The public is invited to bring their own picnics, blankets and lawn chairs to the concerts, which will have an open lawn and lot setting. Food trucks, libations and kids activities will be available at each of the shows. The Levitt AMP concert series is located at 449 West King Street at the corner of King and Minnesota. Admission is free.
