Valley's smoke haze caused by Electra Fire in California
The Electra Fire began three days ago and has since burned 4,428 acres across Amador and Calaveras Counties in California.
As of Friday morning, the fire is 65 percent contained.
The fire appears to have begun on Electra Road, southeast of Jackson in Amador County.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
Echo Summit reported an Air Quality Index of 54 AQI, which is in the moderate territory. Air Quality is acceptable, but there may be a risk for some people who are “unusually sensitive” to air pollution, according to Air Now.
In Carson City, Air Quality is still within the “Good” territory at 36. However, later today and tomorrow there is a forecast of that tipping into the “Moderate” category.
