Carson City Sheriff's arrest log: Woman booked on felony prescription drug charges
A 34 year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday night at 9:42 p.m. in the 3700 block of North Carson Street on multiple felony drug offenses, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy said, specifically possession of controlled substance and possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription.
Tiffaney Elliott was taken into custody following a traffic stop of the vehicle she was driving for failing to maintain a travel lane, according to the arrest report.
A Sheriff's deputy observed the vehicle making an illegal lane change, almost hitting another vehicle in the other lane of travel, the report said.
Upon making contact with the driver, identified as Elliott, the deputy noted two of three children in the back seat were not wearing seat belts.
There was also a female adult passenger inside the vehicle.
Elliot admitted not having her driver's license with her when asked, the report said.
A K-9 unit was called in to perform an exterior sniff of the vehicle, and the K-9 officer displayed behaviors of a positive sniff. Additional law enforcement was requested to assist in an interior search of the vehicle, the report said.
The search included Elliott's purse, which contained her expired driver's license and a prescription bottle with the name of her adult female passenger on it, the report said.
The bottle contained different pills not matching the prescription on the bottle, the report said. All the pills were noted to be narcotics.
Elliott stated the bottle belonged to her, even though her passenger's name was on it.
Additional medication pills were found in a safe box inside the vehicle's trunk, the report said, and those medications belonged to the female passenger, who reported Elliott had been selling some of her medications.
Elliott was handcuffed at that point and transported to the Carson City Jail for booking. Bail: $2,500.
