Carson City Sheriff's arrest log: Man booked for battery with a deadly weapon

A 27 year-old Carson City man was arrested early Saturday morning at 12:25 a.m. in the 1000 block of North Saliman Road on charges of felony battery with a deadly weapon, misdemeanor domestic battery and a misdemeanor violation of Carson City Department Alternative Sentencing terms, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.

Michael Charles Stevens was taken into custody subsequent to a domestic disturbance call at the Saliman residence. A Sheriff's deputy arriving on scene heard yelling coming from the residence and met with the male and female parties involved.

The male subject refused to answer questions, the report said, and gave vague information that things were thrown during an argument. A pocket knife was removed from the male subject's person for safety and alcohol could be smelled coming from him.

The female subject reported that she had arrived home to find the male drinking and stated he was active in DAS with a no-alcohol clause. She said she confronted the male subject and an argument ensued.

The female stated the male started to throw objects at her, including a silver pocket knife that had been opened. She received a small laceration on her left arm, the report said.

The female identified the pocket knife removed from the male during questioning as the object that was thrown at her.

The male refused to consent to a preliminary breath test (PBT). Dispatch confirmed a DAS hold on him and he was handcuffed, then transported to the Carson City Jail for booking. Bail: $30,000.

In other arrests:

— A 23 year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday morning at 6:04 a.m. in the area of South Carson and Tenth streets for misdemeanor disorderly conduct and property damage, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.

According to the arrest report, a Sheriff's deputy was dispatched to the area on report of a male subject throwing a chair at a business window. The suspect was located and contacted by law enforcement.

He was observed to have difficulty maintaining balance, exhibited slurred speech and emitted a strong odor of alcohol, the report said.

The suspect was uncooperative and argumentative with the deputy. He was detained in handcuffs and placed in the back of the patrol vehicle while the deputy completed his investigation of the scene.

Patio chairs and tables were found, appearing to have been thrown against the sidewalk in front of a business. A reporting party (RP) at the business arrived to assess damage and found a broken umbrella stand amongst the tables and chairs. Flowers were also found to have been pulled from beds.

The suspect was transported to the Carson City Jail for booking. Bail: $500.

— A 25 year-old Carson City man was arrested early Saturday morning at 1:01 a.m. in the 3700 block of Tuolumne Way on an active misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued by the Carson City Justice Court, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy reported.

According to the arrest report, a Sheriff's deputy was dispatched to the area on report of a verbal argument coming from outside of a residence. A male subject was reported to be throwing items around in the yard, awakening the reporting party (RP).

Upon arrival, the deputy observed a male subject inside the residence hitting a wall. Contact was made with the occupants, including two males and a female. The one male reported to be hitting the wall was also observed hitting a closed door before walking outside with his three year-old son.

He was observed to be very upset and yelling. The child reached out to the deputy, who lifted him over to the female subject, who was his mother. The yelling male appeared highly intoxicated and displayed a very aggressive emotional state, the reprot said.

A records check on the aggressive male subject confirmed a bench warrant and he was then detained with handcuffs at that time, taken into custody and transported to the Carson City Jail for booking. Bail: $500.

All information for the crime log (unless otherwise noted) comes from the arrest reports supplied by the Carson City Sheriff's Office, and is considered by law to be public information. All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The policy of Carson Now is to name anyone who is arrested for a felony offense.
