Carson City sheriff’s arrest log: Man jailed after rocks thrown at vehicles
An 18-year-old Carson City man and a juvenile were arrested early Tuesday morning after allegedly throwing rocks at three vehicles in the 1800 block of Marian Avenue, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, officers were initially called to the area for a report of shots fired in the area.
The arriving deputy observed three vehicles with obvious damage. In the street were several large rocks and more in the driveway. The officer made contact with the owners of the vehicles who all stated the vehicles were not damaged prior to parking them, according to the arrest report.
The vehicles had two broken windshields, numerous scratches and dents on hoods, fenders, doors and other windows. The vehicle owners estimate damages to be several thousand dollars, the arrest report states.
A Carson City sheriff’s sergeant initiated a traffic stop at Carson Street and Adaline on a vehicle that matched the description provided by the reporting party. The officer stated he observed several large rocks on the floorboard where the adult suspect was sitting. Both the juvenile and the adult suspect admitted to damaging the vehicles with rocks because of jealousy over a girl, the arrest report states.
The adult suspect was taken to jail at 4:36 a.m. and charged with gross misdemeanor destruction of property, $250 to $5,000 and a violation of court monitored sentencing. Bail: $3,000. The juvenile was taken to the juvenile detention center.
