Carson Valley Pops tunes up for spirited Fourth of July
The Carson Valley Pops Orchestra is bringing back their traditional July Fourth Concert in the Park.
Set for 11:30 a.m. at Heritage Park in Gardnerville, right after the Gardnerville Fun Run, this free concert is an ideal way for families to celebrate the Fourth in an old fashioned, small town setting. Bring your picinic and a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the patriotic line up of traditional July Fourth tunes.
The Pops Orchestra will be joined by the Voices of the Sierra Choir, led by Rodger Banes. The program will include “The Star-Spangled Banner,” “Salute to the Armed Forces,” “The Stars and Stripes Forever,” “King Cotton,” a Beach Boys medley and many other patriotic selections.
The Carson Valley Pops Orchestra is a 501 © 3 organization made up of musicians in the community who donate their time and talent to provide free concerts to Carson Valley. There are about 35–40 members consisting of both amateur and professional musicians and middle school, high school and college students as well. CV Pops has awarded scholarships to graduates the last 4 years.
