Auditions open for melodrama 'Train to Danger' with performances aboard the V&T
Lollipop Productions in conjunction with the V&T Railway will hold open auditions on June 21, 2016, for the old time melodrama “Train to Danger” written by John Burkhart.
In “Train to Danger,” railroad heiresses, the Pullman sisters, are stranded in a snowstorm in Hidden Gulch. Handsome engineer, Tom Truetrack is to see to their safety during their trip home.
Villain, Simon Sidetrack, is plotting to gain control of the railroad by marrying the oldest Pullman sister, but she spurns his advances. Simon’s concocts and evil plot to abscond with the sister’s inheritance money. Can Tom Truetrack thwart Simon’s evil plans and save the day on “The Train to Danger?!”
If you love to ham it up in audience interactive theater then you don’t want to miss this audition opportunity. All performances take place two of the V&T Railway cars as they take passengers on a ride along the rails. We are casting two separate 5 member casts to perform in each of the passenger cars. There are roles for 6 women and 4 men age 16 or older.
Auditions will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at the Eastgate Depot of the V&T Railway located at 4650 Eastgate Siding Road in Carson City at 6:30 p.m.
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. There are two confirmed performance dates, August 13th and September 10th, with a potentially third performance on October 8th.
Rehearsals will be held at the depot on Tuesday nights with one another night during the week based on cast availability.
