State conservation employees in Carson City raise money for Wild Animal Infirmary
The employees at the Nevada Department of Conservation and Natural Resources in Carson City have two fundraisers annually for area non-profits. One of the recipients this year is the Wild Animal Infirmary for Nevada, also known as WAIF.
WAIF is a non-profit organization run by a small group of specialized volunteers whose mission is to care for ill, injured and orphaned wildlife and is made possible through donations. When the birds and animals have recovered, they are returned to the wild.
On Tuesday, Suzette Feilen with WAIF was presented with a donation raised by employees at DCNR and gave an Owl Presentation in the lobby of the Richard H. Bryan Building in Carson City to raise awareness about their wildlife recovery efforts.
Kelly Williams with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is shown in the first photo presenting the donation to Suzette Feilen with WAIF. Also included are photos of the two month old Great Horned Owl and the several week old barn owls.
