Man of La Mancha Opens Tonight, June 13
Lake Tahoe Community College's Theatre Arts Department presents the Broadway hit musical, “Man of La Mancha,” with the first performance Friday, June 13 at the campus theater.
This Tony Award-winning musical tells the tale of Don Quixote, the mad knight who sets out on a noble journey to battle evil and win the heart of the Lady Dulcinea.
In addition to his usual responsibilities as music director for the musical,the school's own Dr. Mark D. Williams, plays the title role of “Don Quixote.” Audiences will be inspired by his performance of “The Impossible Dream.”
Performances take place June 13, 14, 19, 20 and 21 at 8 p.m., with Sunday matinees June 15 and 22 at 2 p.m. Running time is approximately two hours and 15 minutes, and there is no intermission.
“Man of La Mancha” is presented as part of the celebration of LTCC’s 40th anniversary. To really celebrate, a reception will follow the matinee performance on Sunday, June 15, where patrons can share wine and appetizers with the cast of MOL, as well as actors from past theater department shows. The community is invited to come and celebrate.
Tickets for “Man of La Mancha” cost $15 general admission; $12 for seniors, groups of eight or more, students with a valid student I.D. and children under 13. Tickets may be purchased in advance at LTCC’s bookstore Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m, and Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The Box Office will be open for ticket sales one hour prior to performances. Seating is limited, so advanced ticket purchases are recommended.
Please note that all ticket sales are final – there are no refunds or exchanges. All tickets are general seating, so please arrive early for best seating availability.
The house will open one half hour prior to curtain for audience seating.
The theater is located on campus at One Campus Dr., South Lake Tahoe.
