Northern Nevada Development Authority announces call for 2018 Pioneer Awards nominations
CARSON CITY — Northern Nevada Development Authority is now accepting nominations for its 2018 Pioneer Awards, which recognizes individuals and business professionals who have made outstanding contributions in economic development and have helped to grow Nevada's Sierra region.
The annual NNDA Pioneer Awards and Gala showcases the many success stories in the area and highlights the strength and innovation of the Sierra Region economic ecosystem.
Nominations can be made at PioneerAwards.com. The submission deadline is August 30, 2018.
Self-nominations are welcome. Award criteria and gala information, including sponsorship options, are also available on the Pioneer Awards website or by contacting Maggie Scott, NNDA Events Manager, mscott@nnda.org or 775.624.3960.
The NNDA Pioneer Awards categories are:
Battle Born Award salutes leadership and excellence in achieving sustainability benefitting their company and community.
Boundary Peak Award honors the Nonprofit who has scaled new heights in providing service(s) to the community.
Silver Forge Award showcases the manufacturer who is an innovator and leader in the manufacturing industry.
Kit Carson Entrepreneur of the Year Award applauds the visionary individual or company who trail blazed a new or unique path to meet market and customer needs.
Sarah Winnemucca Award is being awarded for the first time and acknowledges the company who is an active economic development ambassador for the Sierra Region.
The Northern Nevada Development Authority, www.nnda.org, is a Nevada domestic nonprofit corporation, and the state-designated Regional Development Authority for the Sierra Region of Nevada which includes the state capital of Carson City, Douglas, Lyon and Storey counties.
The region is Nevada’s third largest metropolitan area, includes Lake Tahoe, and encompasses a diverse set of industry sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, mining, health care, aerospace, logistics, tourism, and many others. Since 201o, NNDA has assisted 100 companies with relocation and expansion, and its economic development efforts have resulted in over $1.4 billion total economic impact for the region.
