Power restored after Sunday storm topples trees, power lines
UPDATE 9:35AM: NV Energy reports power being restored after Sunday's wind storm knocked trees into power lines and homes. Spokesman Karl Walquist said all circuits are operating after crews worked through the night. Walquist said all but maybe be one or two homes are without power.

UPDATE 9:30PM: About 2,000 NV Energy customers remain without power Sunday night after high winds battered Carson City during a thunderstorm, snapping trees into power lines and homes.
NV Energy reports roughly 5,000 customers were without power at one point following the storm, which saw winds of 40 mph through much of the west side of Carson Street.
The Carson City Fire Department, Public Works and Sheriff's Office have been working through much of the evening removing trees from streets and rerouting traffic in areas where there have been downed power lines.
No one was injured. The brunt of the storm hit between 4 and 5 p.m.
NV Energy spokeswoman Stefanie McCaffrey said the outages happened Sunday on three separate circuits. As of 9:25 p.m., one of the three circuits was brought back to power.
On Saturday, 3,200 NV Energy customers were without power for around four to five hours after a wind gust kicked up a canopy into a power line on Winnie Lane.

UPDATE 5:45PM: High winds whipped through the west side of Carson City Sunday afternoon, snapping tree limbs into homes, power lines and causing roadways to fill up with debris.
Carson City Fire Department, Public Works and the Sheriff's Office were going block by block, mostly along the west side of Carson Street responding to arcing power lines into trees and checking for injuries after limbs went into homes.
No injuries have been reported. Wind gusts of more than 40 mph blew into the area, with some thunder and lightning and a brief shower.
Power outages are spotty and reported throughout Carson City. NV Energy reports at least 2,700 customers are without power.

High winds late Sunday afternoon in Carson City caused tree limbs to snap and at least two power lines were reported down, one near Morgan Mill Road and the other on Gregg Street, which was arcing.
A Carson City Sheriff's Office patrol car was hit by a tree limb on Carson and Wright Way shortly before 5 p.m. The officer was not injured.
Flying debris and tree limbs were reported to be blocking the roadway near Morgan Mill Road and Empire Ranch Road, according to Carson City Fire Department crews on the scene.
Wind gusts were around 40 mph. So far today's high wind gust was 45 mph at 3:12 p.m., according to CarsonWeather.com.
