Carson City election officials report steady voter turnout for Nevada primary
Today's primary election turnout in Carson City has generated a steady number of voters throughout the morning and early this afternoon at the Carson City Community Center and at the Carson City Fairgrounds precints, said Sue Merriwether, Carson City chief deputy clerk for elections.
She reports that absentee and early voting numbers for Carson City came it at around 30 percent, and was a bit surprised by the amount of voters turning out to cast their ballots in today's primary.
"Generally we don't see as many come through to vote in primaries and if they do, they usually vote early, so it is surprising to see this steady turnout today," she said.
