"This monument is a reminder of the real cost of freedom,” said WAVE President Carl Schnock, himself a Vietnam veteran. “It is a reminder of a life-long pain that is felt by us for our way of life."
A number of Vietnam veterans volunteered to build the Moving Wall over 35 years ago and it was first displayed in Texas in 1984. The memorial has been traveling the country ever since and was at Mills Park in Carson City in October of 2012.
Sponsors and volunteers are still greatly appreciated. Contact Nadia Shahin, Eastside Memorial Park (775) 782-4554 or info@esmp.co for more information.
