Carson City firefighters called to help fight brush fire in Silver Springs
UPDATE: A brush fire and possible structure fire is burning Thursday afternoon in the area of Idaho and Citrus streets in Silver Springs, prompting a mutual aid call from Lyon County to surrounding agencies, including Carson City.
Lyon County fire officials has asked for mutual assistance to help fight the fire. According to Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch, firefighters from the BLM and Nevada Department of Forestry are also responding.
According to Lyon County Dispatch, the fire has spread to two structures. Streets are closed at Citrus/Idaho and Idaho/Cypress. Motorists and residents are urged to avoid the area and yield to emergency vehicles.

"The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is advising drivers to exercise extreme caution in Silver Springs. There is extensive emergency vehicle traffic as more firefighting vehicles respond to a multi-structure fire in the Citrus/Idaho and Idaho/Cypress area."
