Gusty winds to continue for Carson City through tonight
High winds continue to whip through Carson City this afternoon, with a gust reaching 53 mph recorded so far in the capital city, according to CarsonWeather.com.
A wind advisory continues through 11 tonight as southwest gusts of up to 70 mph are possible in wind prone areas and gusts between 35 to 55 mph for areas along Highway 395, Highway 50 and Interstate 80, according to the National Weather Service in Reno.
The forecast for the remainder of the day calls for a 50 pecent chance of rain and continued windy. Tonight after 8 p.m. could bring a slight chance of rain showers with the snow level beginning at around 6,500 feet and lowering to 5,100 feet, according to the weather service.
Thursday's forecast calls for sunny skies and breezy with a high of around 58. Friday's high is expected to be around 63 degrees, with a chance of rain on Saturday. Sunday and Monday are expected to be sunny days.
