Carson City man arrested for allegedly threatening to shoot witness during birthday party
A 21-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly threatening a man with a gun at a birthday party.
According to the arrest report, Cameron Williams was arrested after deputies were dispatched to a local chain restaurant on S. Carson St. on report of a dispute.
When deputies arrived on scene, they learned that the suspect, Williams had fled the scene. Deputies spoke with witnesses who stated they were there for a birthday party, and Williams had made a comment about an attendee not being “the real dad” to his fiancee’s child, which resulted in an argument.
Williams allegedly said something to the effect of “I have a present for you,” before he went outside, retrieved a gun from his vehicle, came back inside to continue the argument, and raised his shirt to show the firearm. The witness said Williams made comments that he would shoot the witness before leaving the restaurant.
With the consent of another witness, deputies searched the vehicle shared by her and Williams and located a black “Glock” box which contained a Glock handgun and four magazines.
Deputies spoke to the woman who stated she had been arrested that morning in Carson City and after she was released, she and Williams had gone shooting up Goni before driving to the restaurant for the birthday dinner. She denied Williams ever brought the firearm inside the restaurant, despite multiple other witnesses stating he had.
Deputies located Williams later in South Carson, and Williams said that the man he’d confronted had “put hands on a child” which is why he said “that kid is not even yours.” However, Williams declined to provide any names or a written statement.
Williams denied ever being in possession of a firearm.
Deputies noted that Williams had an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person. Williams denied drinking but did provide a PBT of .097 percent BAC.
Deputies placed Williams under arrest for an ex-felon being in possession of a firearm, assault with a firearm and a parole and probation hold, as Williams is not allowed to consume alcohol or be in possession of firearms.
No bail.
