Carson City man arrested for multiple traffic violations, possession of a methamphetamine pipe

A 48-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday morning for multiple traffic-related crimes as well as possession of a methamphetamine pipe.
According to the arrest report, deputies were on patrol when they conducted a registration check on a VW car bearing an Arizona license plate, which returned as belonging to an Acura.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop for having fictitious plates and made contact with the driver. Deputies asked if there was anything illegal inside the vehicle, and the driver paused, looked around and stated no, which is “common behavior when a subject’s being deceitful,” according to the report.
Deputies instructed the driver to exit the vehicle and detained him. The man stated he had a knife on his hip and deputies asked if he had anything illegal on him or anything that could hurt deputies conducting a pat down.
The man stated he had a pipe in his pocket. Deputies located the pipe in the man’s front right cargo pocket and identified it as a methamphetamine pipe. The man stated the pipe belonged to his friend and that he was holding it for him. He stated that he does use meth, however, but that he normally “snorts” it, according to the report.
Dispatch advised that the man’s license was revoked for DUI and is revoked until Oct. 2021. He also had an active warrant out of Carson City for violation of a suspended sentence. He did not possess any vehicle insurance. He stated he took the Arizona license plates off of another vehicle that he owns.
The man was taken to the Carson City Jail without incident and booked for fictitious license plates, driving on a revoked driver’s license for DUI, driving without proof of insurance, driving an unregistered vehicle, possession of paraphernalia, and violation of a suspended sentence.

— A 31-year-old Carson City man was arrested for a failure to appear traffic warrant out of Hawthorn Township Justice Court while in custody at the Carson City Jail.
According to the report, deputies were assigned to the booking counter at the Carson City Jail. They received court paperwork releasing all local charges on the man.
Deputies then ran the man for wants and warrants and came back with an active warrant out of Hawthorne Township Justice Court for failure to appear on a traffic ticket.
Deputies add-booked the man without incident.
