In other arrests:
— A 53-year-old Genoa woman, Stephanie Lynne Richmond, was arrested Tuesday night in the 3800 block of South Carson Street for felony suspicion of child endangerment and misdemeanor driving under the influence of drugs, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, deputies responded to a report of a possible intoxicated driver in a U-haul truck with a juvenile inside.
A sheriff’s deputy located the vehicle, paced it going 10 to 15 miles per hour below the posted speed limit. Due to the nature of the call involving a child, the deputy conducted a traffic stop, the report states.
He made contact with the female driver, and observed the 9-year-old girl inside the vehicle sitting in the center console, which wasn’t a designated seat and did not have a seat belt. The woman admitted she knew she should have had her child in a designated seat with seatbelt, the report states.
While speaking with the woman, the officer observed her to have red eyes and slow speech. The officer asked the woman if she would voluntarily perform standardized field sobriety tests. She agreed. During the standard questions she advised she took her prescription medication, Xanax and Ambien, earlier that day.
Due to the woman displaying impairment and admission to taking medications prior to operating her vehicle, she was arrested for child endangerment and suspicion of DUI drugs. She agreed to provide an evidentiary blood sample. Bail: $3,637.
— A Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, 12:20 a.m. in the 800 block of East College Parkway for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI, failure to use a turn signal, failure to stop at a stop sign and failure to yield the right-of-way to an emergency vehicle.
According to the arrest report, a deputy was dispatched to the area of Retail Drive for a report of an intoxicated driver. The deputy located the vehicle, observed it failing to use a turn signal for a turn, then failed to properly stop for a posted stop sign. When the officer attempted to stop the vehicle with lights and siren, the vehicle continued, failing to stop for the officer until around the 800 block of East College Parkway.
The officer could smell an odor of alcohol and the driver admitted to consuming alcohol. During standardized field sobriety tests, the man showed signs of impairment on all the tests. He refused the preliminary breath test. He was arrested for suspicion of DUI and taken to jail. At jail he denied an evidentiary breath test and agreed to a blood test. Bail: $1,933.
— A 41-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Tuesday, 9:45 p.m. in the area of Dat So La Lee Way and Snyder Avenue for misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery. The woman allegedly backhanded the victim in the face several times after stopping the vehicle they were in. The victim attempted to block some of the blows, but ended up with a visible black eye, a cut and smaller bruises to the left hand and wrist, the report states. Bail: $3,137.
