NHP identifies Sparks man who died Sunday in crash near Wadsworth
The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified a Sparks man who died Sunday in a single vehicle crash on State Route 447 near Wadsworth in Washoe County.
Daniel Ricardo Perez, 29, was the driver of a black Chevrolet Blazer that overturned, ejecting him from the vehicle. Perez was pronounced dead at the scene after NHP officers arrived at approximately 4 p.m., said NHP Trooper Matt McLaughlin.
According to NHP's preliminary investigation, Perez was traveling southbound on State Route 447, north of Olinghouse Road near the town of Wadsworth. Perez allowed the SUV to travel off the roadway onto the southbound shoulder. The driver then steered to the left, causing the Blazer to re-enter the highway and travel across the southbound and northbound travel lanes.
The SUV traveled onto the northbound shoulder and overturned, landing on its wheels. Perez was not wearing his seatbelt, according to the NHP preliminary report.
