Walkers gather in support of sexual assault awareness
More than 15 people gathered Saturday morning in the Bully's parking lot off West College Parkway, braving overcast skies and a crisp spring chill to participate in the Sexual Assault Awareness Walk hosted by the Associated Students of Western Nevada.
Participants left the Bully's parking lot as a group and made their way west up along College Parkway about one and a half miles to where the walk ended at the Western Nevada College Student Center.
Refreshments, information, and speakers awaited them in the student center.
At the end of the speaking presentations, walkers will then return to the Bully's parking lot, completing a 2.3-mile roundtrip.
"Western Nevada College student leaders are serious about preventing sexual assault in our society," a press release published earlier stated.
