March gaming revenue down in Carson City, soars at South Shore Lake Tahoe
Carson City area gaming profits fell 2.8 percent in March, while statewide figures show a 7.6 percent increase over the same period a year ago, according to figures released Tuesday by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
Casinos in Carson City, Minden, Gardnerville and all other areas of Douglas County except Stateline report gaming profits of $8,049,618 for the month.
The Stateline area of Lake Tahoe, which has seen declining casino profits this year, saw a huge rebound for the month, climbing 31.64 percent over March 2013 figures. The casinos at the South Shore of Lake Tahoe took in gaming profits of $14,930,904 compared to $11,342,501 in March 2013.
Elsewhere, casinos in Washoe County, Reno, Sparks and North Lake Tahoe saw gaming revenue declines for the month, according to figures.
Statewide, gaming revenues for the month amounted to $912,784,688, according to the gaming control board. For the fiscal year, July 1, 2013 through March 31, 2014, gaming win has increased 1.65 percent.
