Waterfalls of the Shasta Cascade
By the Shasta Cascade Wonderland Association
One of the great features of the Shasta Cascade region of Northern California is its natural beauty and cascading waterfalls.
Thanks to an abundance of rain and snow fall, many of the waterfalls are roaring this season. They are best seen during early spring to late summer, with some flowing year-round. The region boasts numerous waterfalls throughout its eight counties, a few of these highlights include: Whiskeytown Falls at Whiskeytown National Recreation Area, Kings Creek Falls in Lassen Volcanic National Park, the three McCloud Falls near McCloud, Feather Falls near Lake Oroville, and of course, one of the most renowned waterfalls in the region, Burney Falls, located in Burney McArthur State Park. This season celebrates Whiskeytown’s 5th Annual Waterfall Week beginning April 16th through April 24th.
The Whiskeytown Waterfall Challenge is offering group hikes to Whiskeytown Falls through the end of May.
Children and adults can obtain a free Waterfall Passport at the Visitor Center, hike to the waterfalls throughout the park, and then bring your passport back to the Visitor Center to receive a prize.
Get out and enjoy the beauty of the waterfalls of the Shasta Cascade region with friends or family to share your experience while making lasting memories and capturing spectacular photo!
The Shasta Cascade Wonderland Association is a non-profit organization seeking to promote economic development through recreation and tourism in Butte, Lassen, Plumas, Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama, and Trinity Counties.
