Did you feel them? Multiple earthquakes rattle Lake Tahoe
The Nevada Seismological Laboratory reports a 3.91 magnitude earthquake shook the Lake Tahoe area Sunday morning. The earthquake was felt throughout the region, including the Carson City area. It was followed by several smaller quakes.
The earthquakes are centered 5.7 miles west northwest of Glenbrook with the 3.9 having shook at 8:33 a.m. It was followed by smaller earthquakes, a 2.5 magnitude and a 1.9, and then a larger one at 8:44 a.m. with a 2.8 magnitude, according to the Laboratory. Other smaller quakes have followed. The USGS reported the first quake at a preliminary 3.7 magnitude.
As of 5:20 p.m. Sunday there's been a total of 17 recorded earthquakes in the same area.
