Emergency crews respond to accident in westbound lane Highway 50 East
UPDATE 10:46AM: NHP Trooper Karen Garretson reports the following: A White Ford Explorer was traveling westbound Highway 50 with reports that it was driving recklessly.
The Ford Explorer struck three mile marker posts on the right shoulder before striking an unoccupied truck and trailer combo that was parked on the side of the road.
The impact pushed the truck and trailer into the travel lane. The driver of the Ford Explorer has non-life threatening injuries and was taken by ambulance to Carson Tahoe Hospital. Controlled substances may be a factor in the crash.

Carson City sheriff's deputies, fire and rescue and the Nevada Highway Patrol were called to a vehicle accident with injuries at around 9:45 a.m. after a vehicle driving westbound on Highway 50 East allegedly struck another vehicle before crashing in the 3400 block of Highway 50 East.
The initial call came into dispatch as a reckless driving coming in from Lyon County. At least two vehicles are involved, including a pickup with a trailer and an SUV.
According to a deputy on scene, one of the vehicles allegedly crashed into another, pushing it roughly 250 yards.
"It's quite a scene," the deputy said.
