Information regarding June 9 voting in Carson City, changes due to COVID-19
Our local elections are still going to be held on June 9, COVID-19 or not. However, safety is key, and that’s why pursuant to NRS 293.213(4), all Carson City precincts have been designated as absent ballot mailing precincts for the upcoming primary election.
For active voters, their absent ballot will be automatically mailed to them at their current address on file. No further action is required.
For inactive voters, please register to vote with the Secretary of State’s Office, which is found here:
Primary elections will take place June 9, 2020, and the general election will be held November 3, 2020.
During a regular election season unaffected by a global pandemic, the use of an absent ballot are as follows:
An absent ballot may be requested if the voter is unable to vote in person during early voting or on election day.
An absent ballot may be requested for specific elections or for all elections at which the voter is eligible to vote.
An absent ballot may be requested no later than the fourteenth (14th) calendar day preceding the election (except for an emergency).
