Carson City arrests: Man jailed for suspicion of elderly abuse
A 56-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday for felony suspicion of elderly abuse in which the victim said the man grabbed and pushed her, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Arrested at 10:25 a.m. in the 2100 block of Lone Mountain Drive was Anthony Kort Nelson. According to the booking report, a 69-year-old woman met with a deputy at the sheriff’s office and said the suspect had grabbed her with his hands and physically pushed and pulled her in a violent manner while he was yelling at her.
A witness told the deputy he had observed the man grab the woman, as she had described, as he was passing in front of the location. The witness said this happened near the street on Lone Mountain Drive.
Deputies located the suspect, where he was placed under arrest for suspicion of elderly abuse. Bail: $20,000.
In other arrests:
— A 57-year-old Carson City man, James Edward Ursua, was arrested Thursday, 8 p.m. in the 300 block of Lee Street for felony suspicion of persuading a victim not to report a crime and misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $8,137.
— A 36-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday, 2:19 a.m. in the 3300 block of Highway 50 East for a misdemeanor failure to appear on a domestic battery warrant and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the arrest report, a deputy conducted a records search on a subject during a casino business check and learned he had a warrant out of Lyon County for his arrest. The warrant was for failure to complete batterer’s intervention counseling and appear for a March 13 hearing. During a search the man informed the deputy he had a meth pipe in his jacket pocket. Bail: $2,137.
— A 46-year-old Novato, Calif., man was arrested Thursday, 4:33 a.m. in the 2100 block of East William Street for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a suspended or revoked license, no proof of insurance and driving with expired license plates. According to the arrest report, a deputy made a stop on a vehicle with expired license plates and learned the driver didn’t have proof of insurance and was driving on a suspended license. During the investigation, deputies located a meth pipe with meth residue inside. He was arrested. Bail: $2,583.
— A 52-year-old Dayton man was arrested Thursday, 6:57 p.m. in the area of Brown and Highway 50 East for a misdemeanor failure to appear traffic warrant issued March 29, 2017 out of East Fork Township Court. Bail: $238.
— A 44-year-old Dayton man was arrested Thursday, 5:46 p.m. in the area of Arrowhead and Emerson streets for misdemeanor suspicion of violation of a restraining order and violation of probation. Bail: $6,137.
— A 29-year-old Mound House woman, in jail already on a separate charge, was served an additional warrant charge, failure to appear, on Thursday, 9:30 p.m. The warrant was issued April 7, 2017 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $215.
