Carson City arrests: Man jailed for allegedly hitting casino employee

A 43-year-old Carson City man as arrested Tuesday for misdemeanor suspicion of battery and disorderly conduct following an altercation with an employee at a South Carson Street casino.

According to a Carson City Sheriff's Office booking report, deputies were dispatched at 5:34 p.m. to a fight at a casino in the 900 block of South Carson Street.

Deputies were told by casino staff that a man was inside fighting. As a deputy was going inside, the suspect came outside. The officer was able to get him to sit down and calm down. He wouldn't tell the officer anything other than he was trying to use the restroom and was told to leave, the arrest report states.

A deputy spoke with a casino employee who said the man asked to use a machine that would charge his phone. An employee offered to charge the phone for him. Deputies learned the man walked outside and began to yell and curse at customers. Another employee asked the man to leave several times.

The suspect then pushed the employee into a garbage can by the front door and hit him several times, the report states. The two ended up in the casino, where the man continued to hit the employee. The employee stated he would press charges and signed a citizens arrest form, the report states.

While deputies were attempting to investigate the situation, the suspect began to yell and curse at a deputy, standing up and taking a fighting stance. The deputy put handcuffs on the suspect and took him to jail. At jail he blew a preliminary breath test of .349. Bail: $1,379.
