More than 400 COVID-19 tests available in Carson City through Serenity Mental Health
Serenity Mental Health in Carson City is now offering COVID-19 screenings and testing. The Carson City mental health facility has access to more than 400 COVID-19 tests. Any resident in northern Nevada who currently has symptoms and feels they may have contracted coronavirus may apply regardless of insurance.
To apply for a date and time to get tested, go to www.serenitymentalhealth.org
Serenity asks those who want a test to download the questionnaire on the website, fill it out and email it back to COVID19@serenitymentalhealth.org, along with an image of your ID and the front and back of your insurance card.
No insurance, no problem. Just indicated in the email: "no insurance."
A doctor will call you back as soon as possible for a telehealth visit to determine if a test is warranted. Only 1 test will be given per vehicle. Serenity advises to put your name in the subject line and include your best contact numbers in the email.
Serenity says this is a private testing event. Any inquiries about the COVID-19 testing services will be handled by the Serenity Mental Health COVID-19 response team.
Inquiries should be submitted to covid19@serenitymentalhealth.org; Please put “Inquiry“ and or “Question“ in the subject line of the email.
Serenity notes the Carson City Health and Human Service department has assisted in providing insight on logistics and protocol. They are asking the public to please not use the Quad County COVID-19 Hotline for inquires regarding any of the Serenity's COVID-19 testing services.
Followup communication regarding positive and negative test results will be provided by the Serenity Mental Health COVID-19 response team. The health and human services department will only contact patients in the event of a positive test result.
Supplies are limited but everyone will be contacted. If supplies run short and you still want tested, you will be referred to the proper source or will be rescheduled for a later time.
Test results only indicate a current positive or negative result. If you feel you may have acquired COVID-19 in the past yet are no longer sick, Serenity asks that you not apply.
For those who are not seeking a COVID-19 test, Serenity is available for mental health needs through telehealth services in the community, with 20 clinicians and 7 student clinicians. For information about mental health telehealth services, call (775) 841-6050.
