Suspect in beating of Carson City woman was due in court on domestic battery charge

UPDATE 1:05PM: A 22-year-old Carson City man faces felony charges after he allegedly beat a pregnant woman with a rock, released a pit bull on responding officers and then stabbed himself in the neck. The victim in the battery was being treated for non life-threatening injuries, said Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong.
The suspect, Jordan Webber, was flown by Care Flight to Renown Medical Center in Reno. He was to appear in Carson City court today on domestic battery charges, said Furlong. The Carson City Sheriff’s Office responded Tuesday morning, 11:25 a.m. to a report of a violent domestic battery actively taking place at the 2300 block of Dori Way in northeast Carson City.
The hysterical reporting female informed dispatchers that a man was attacking a pregnant female with a knife. She believed the victim was being stabbed repeatedly and her throat had been “slit” in the back yard of the residence.
As deputies arrived at the scene, a male matching the description of the suspect, later identified Jordan Webber, 22, released a pitbull dog that charged toward officers, said Furlong in a news release. The dog was immediately put down by an officer with gunfire while he was rushing into the yard. Webber was just feet away from the deputy then used a knife to stab himself in the throat before the deputy was able to subdue him using a taser. No other shots were fired.
Webber was treated at the scene by paramedics for a severe knife wound to the neck and throat, and then taken by Care Flight to Renown Medical Center.
The 20-year-old pregnant victim, whose name is not being released, was treated at the scene by paramedics for blunt force trauma injuries, believed to be inflicted by a “rock” was taken to Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Knife injuries to the victim had not been confirmed at the scene, but paramedics confirmed that her throat had not been cut as reported.
This matter is currently under investigation and officers are attempting to confirm the relationship between the victim and Webber. However, it has been confirmed that Webber was scheduled to be in court later Tuesday on a domestic battery charge.
Webber faces charges of domestic battery, and battery with a deadly weapon.

11:53AM: A domestic confrontation this morning in the 2300 block of Dori Way has resulted in two people being sent to the hospital, and a dog being shot.
According to Carson City Sheriff Kenny Furlong, a woman at the residence was severely beaten with a rock, and the male subject suffered a self-inflicted stab wound to the neck.
The male subject is being transported to Renown Medical Center via Careflight. The female was also taken to the hospital. Their conditions are unknown at this time.
Furlong reported that a dog at the residence was shot after it attacked deputies responding to the incident shortly before 11:30 a.m.
