Public Safety Column: Have a safe and Happy Easter weekend
Easter is here and with it the excitement of searching for eggs dyed in various colors and designs. There will be quite a few activities going on this weekend and traffic will be heavy at times. Plan ahead and leave early so that you have plenty of time to make it to your event.
Should you find yourself running late and in a hurry, take into consideration that many children will be riding in vehicles to and from events and the risks associated with rushing from place to place will increase the chances of a car crash.
If you are transporting children be sure that they are secured by their seatbelts or car seats before your vehicle starts to move and don’t forget to buckle up yourself. Put away the cell phones and other items that may distract you while you are driving and be patient, many other drivers are trying to get to the same event as you so be courteous.
With your help we can all enjoy a Happy Easter. The staff and auxiliary units of the Carson City Sheriff’s Office would like to wish you a safe and Happy Easter weekend.
