Carson City arrests: Man sent to jail for being drunk, allegedly steals wallet

A 26-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Saturday in the 100 block of East Telegraph Street for misdemeanor violation of a suspended sentence.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the area at 4:05 a.m. for a report of a larceny in progress. Dispatch advised that a male subject had taken a wallet from a female. Dispatch further advised the victim was able to recover all of her items from the man.
Upon arrival deputies made contact with the suspect who had allegedly taken the wallet from the woman. While speaking, the deputy could smell an odor of alcohol coming from his person. The man stated he didn't steal any wallets, the arrest report states.
A records check showed he was on probation with the Department of Alternative Sentencing with a "no alcohol" clause. He provided a preliminary breath test in which he blew a .427, the arrest report states. He was arrested for violation of a suspended sentence.
The victim of the stolen wallet did not want to press charges due to her being able to recover her items back. Bail: $1,000.

— A 28-year-old Bridgeport, Calif., an was arrested Saturday, 2:50 a.m. for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued March 13, 2016 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $414.
— A 64-year-old Carson City woman was booked into Carson City Jail on Saturday, 1:20 a.m. for a misdemeanor violation of probation warrant issued March 12, 2019 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.
— A 31-year-old Reno man and an inmate at Carson City Jail was booked Friday for a felony warrant alleging possession of schedule 1 drugs for sale.
In custody is Claude Maurice King. According to the arrest report, King was in Carson City Jail custody when a warrant wax faxed to the jail division from the Second Judicial Court in Washoe County. The bench warrant was issued March 22, 2019. A "no bail" hold was attached to the warrant. King will be extradited to Washoe County.
