What Works: Allow yourself to be challenged
When I say the word challenge, how do you feel? Do you feel energized and ready to take it on? Do you feel afraid? Maybe you feel some other way? Challenge is a catalyst for change.
Think about the last change you made. Why did you do it? Is it because you challenged yourself? Is it because you were challenged in some way by someone you respect? Did life just throw the challenge at you? I recently got off the Whole 30 diet, having completed 30 days. I was resistant when I started. It wasn’t easy. However, someone important to me made a good point. I will feel better when I take some action to find out what food I can’t tolerate. Now, I have my benefit. That created motivation.
See, when you allow yourself to be challenged and find the WIN for yourself, that win (if its big enough) will outweigh any fear, inconvenience, struggle, or potential pain you might imagine. Tip those scales and you won’t only accept the challenge, you will conquer it!
With this in mind, I started a text program which issues weekly challenges that help create opportunity. I call it Inspiration in Action. If you text @wwcoaching to 81010, you can join for free. But I thought I would use the first challenge of the program to make a point about challenge. It can make things happen in your life in a good way!
Here's the challenge. If you are in, comment below “I’m In” and let’s support each other this week. Let’s see what we can make happen in Carson City in a short time. I’ll also post this challenge on my What Works Coaching Facebook page.
This week, identify three people in your network.
No. 1: Someone you are curious about.
No. 2: Someone you can send business to.
No. 3: Someone you admire and would like to learn from.
Choose one to see face-to-face, one to email or reach out to on a social network, and one to call. Throughout the week, be aware of the opportunity that comes from your action. I like to say, sometimes opportunity doesn’t know. It whispers elegantly, take action my darling. It’s time.
So, will you accept the challenge?
Comment “I’m In” below and let’s have some fun this week!
