Carson City man allegedly stabs woman with butter knife, jailed for felony battery
A 50-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Monday for suspicion of felony battery with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, misdemeanor domestic battery second offense and resisting a police officer, a sheriff’s deputy said.
Rusty Beseau was taken into custody at 2:56 a.m. after running from deputies in the 1000 block of Tamarisk Street following a domestic battery call in which the victim was stabbed in the chest with a butter knife, according to the arrest report.
Deputies responded to a call at the home, and heard the suspect yelling and the sound of someone being hit. The deputy knew the man inside the home from a previous contact at the residence, the arrest report states.
The deputy knocked on the front door and called out for Beseau to come out. The man replied with expletives. The front door opened and the victim came out of the residence, the report states.
A deputy began to call for the man to come out with his hands up. Other deputies on scene suspected the man ran out the back door of the residence. A deputy went into the back yard and could hear the man jumping over fences. He was caught and handcuffed.
Deputies observed the wound on the woman, who denied medical attention. The man also allegedly used the butter knife to stab at the refrigerator and cabinets, according to the arrest report.
Deputies reviewed the man’s criminal history and learned he had been convicted of domestic battery in the past. Officers located two 12 gauge shot guns and several replica style pellet guns in the home that looked nearly identical to real firearms, the arrest report states.
Beseau was booked on the charges of suspicion of battery with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, second offense domestic battery and resisting a public officer. Bail: $40,549.
