Northern Nevada Children's Art Reception adds flair to Carson City
Carson’s young artistic talent was on full display Saturday as the annual Northern Nevada Children’s Art Reception returned to the Artsy Fartsy Creative Center in downtown Carson City.
Children 5-18 years old displayed a variety of paintings, drawings, portraits, and photography splashed with vivid colors and imagination.
“I find this program very important to kids of all ages,” said Jeffery Pace, owner of Artsy Fartsy Art Gallery and Creative Center. “Because it establishes a connection with art at a younger age which allows them to use their expanding imagination and creativity.”
The reception also introduced the young artists to the business and community side that comes with the event.
“Kids who participate in the show must sign a one-day contract with me,” said Pace. “They also frame, sign, and even price their work if they want to. So it’s not just the concept of creating something pretty, it’s the business side to it that engages the community.”
