Carson City Sheriff's Office arrests: Man jailed for sex offender noncompliance
A Carson City man was arrested Thursday for felony suspicion of failure to comply with annual verification of being a tier 1 sex offender and a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
William Lyman Smith II was booked at 1:17 p.m. after he was trespassed from a motel in the 3100 block of North Carson Street. The man was extremely intoxicated when deputies arrived at the motel, providing a breath sample of .315. He was taken to the hospital to be medically cleared due to the high level of intoxication. Bail: $5,500.
In other arrests:
— A 29-year-old Carson City woman, Tiffany Joanne Fraker, was booked Thursday for a felony failure to appear warrant concerning a charge of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of sale, a category D felony. She’s being held without bail in lieu of a hearing.
— A 34-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Thursday in the area of Cinnabar and Agate for suspicion of child neglect, a gross misdemeanor.
According to the arrest report, dispatch received calls of a woman who was walking with a small child in the travel lane.
The woman was located and had a strong odor of alcohol and slurred speech. She told the officer she had consumed two drinks. Also with her was her two-year-old daughter. The woman told the deputy she had walked to Walmart and was returning home.
The woman was not in any shape to care for her young daughter, the arrest report states. She consented to a preliminary breath test with a result of .250.
The woman informed the deputy she had been arrested prior for DUI and said she had a severe addiction to alcohol. Her parents were contacted and responded to take custody of the woman’s daughter. The woman was arrested and taken into custody for suspicion of child neglect. The woman thanked the deputy for taking her to jail and said she understood the danger she placed her daughter in, the report concluded. Bail: $2,500.
— A Reno man was booked early Friday on multiple misdemeanor charges: driving with fictitious registration, driving with expired registration, driving without insurance, being a non-resident driving with a revoked or suspended license and two failure to appear warrants issued out of courts in Elko and Reno township court. Bail: $4,178.
— A 36-year-old transient was booked into jail Thursday, 1:20 p.m. for a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant issued out of East Fork Township Court. Bail: $973.
— A 22-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday, 12:30 a.m. in the 3300 block of Market Street for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued March 10 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.
