A low-snow future? We need to talk: Our view
They are dropping like flies: Ski resorts closing early because of high temperatures and lack of snow. This could be just another wild swing in the Sierra Nevada's historically fluctuating weather. Or it could be a sign of things to come.
For the past four years, something has caused high-pressure weather systems to sit off the coast of California and then be pushed north, away from northwestern Nevada.
