Nevada Humane Society Pups on Parole to be on parade Saturday in Virginia City
The PUPS up for Parole will be parading through Virginia City this weekend in celebration of Easter. Join Nevada Humane Society and their adoptable dogs as they step into spring with the Easter Bonnet and Pet Parade Saturday, March 26 at 12 noon.
Bring your furry (and not so furry) friends to stroll along the main drag of Virginia City and remember to don your favorite bonnet for the festivities.
PUPS is a Nevada Humane Society program that pairs qualified inmates from the Warm Springs Correctional Center with specific dogs. The overall goal is to help dogs that have behavioral challenges receive training and behavior modification so they can be placed up for adoption.
Both dogs and humans receive enrichment and the reward of a better life in the future. For a closer look at the PUPS Program, watch this video by KRNV News 4 and read the Nevada Humane Society blog here.
