Carson City sheriff's deputies arrest trio in suspected armed robbery at motel parking lot

Three men were arrested Monday on felony robbery and other charges after a victim was held at gunpoint and money demanded from him while parked in a lot at a South Carson Street motel, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

In custody are Shawn Felix, 26, Raymond Mann, 28, and Tarron Evans, 30, all are listed as transients and have had previous contacts with law enforcement in Carson City.

Felix was charged with with suspicion of armed robbery with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery and battery with a deadly weapon. His ball was set at $90,000. Evans was charged with felony robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery and being an ex-felony in possession of a firearm. He also had a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant. His bail was set at $40,215. Mann faces charges of conspiracy to commit robbery, a felony, and violation of alternative sentencing. Bail: $20,000.

According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the Veranda View Motel on Monday at 11:39 p.m., and met with two victims who advised they had just been robbed at gun point while sitting in their vehicle in the parking lot.

One victim said a male subject who he recognized, came up to the driver side of the vehicle where he was sitting and started hitting the front window. The victim said he exited the front passenger side of the vehicle to confront suspect, Felix. The victim said once he exited, Felix ran over to him, pointed a small handgun at him and demanded money several times. The victim said he told Felix he did not have any money. The victim said Felix then hit him with the gun, which he noted had a light on it, in the left shoulder and left side of his head, the arrest report states.

The victim said Felix then ran off and got into the front driver side of a dark colored Toyota sedan that was parked behind the victim, the arrest report states. He said he recognized Tarron Evans sitting in the front passenger seat along with another man, later identified as Raymond Mann, who was seated in the rear of the Toyota.

The victim said he got back into his vehicle and exited the parking lot going northbound on Carson Street and observed the Toyota leaving the parking lot, headed southbound on Carson Street. The witness told deputies he then called the “cops” for help, the arrest report states.

While interviewing with the victims, a deputy located the dark colored Toyota in the area of Kimberly Circle and Harbin streets that was occupied by three men. The deputy pulled over the Toyota and made contact with the occupants, Felix, Evans and Mann. A small handgun that had a light on it was found inside of the Toyota, the arrest report states. All three suspects were taken into custody without incident.
