Traffic stop in Carson City yields 119 grams of meth and fentanyl, 4 arrested
On Saturday, March 16, 2024 Carson City Special Enforcement team conducted a traffic stop yielding 119 grams of narcotics.
At approximately 8PM SET conducted a traffic stop at College Parkway at Market Street on a Mercedes sedan. The vehicle took additional time to pull over.
Contact was made with the driver, Garren Bookman, and three other female passengers (Celena Penfold, Jessica Buckley and Savanna West).
The occupants were asked to exit the vehicle and the rear passenger, Celena Penfold, refused at first. She finally exited and ultimately dropped a large quantity of methamphetamine and fentanyl from her dress (two large sacks of methamphetamine and two large sacks of fentanyl).
The driver had his belt undone and methamphetamine was visible on his belt, which appeared as if the narcotics may have came from his pants.
As the driver was exiting the vehicle, he admitted there was a “baggie” in between the seats.
SET police K9 Cash was used and provided a positive alert to the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted and additional narcotics were located inside the vehicle to include fentanyl and drug paraphernalia. All the occupants were arrested for drug related charges.
— Garren was booked for possession of a controlled substance for sale (2 counts), possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl and possession of drug paraphernalia.
— Savanna West was booked for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
— Jessica Buckley was arrested for Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substance Act.
— Celena Penfold was arrested for Possession of a controlled substance (2 counts) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
All the occupants of the vehicle (who were from Reno) were booked into the Carson City Jail.
