Carson City mayor, sheriff, DA and fire chief to give blood in challenge
The local office of United Blood Services has challenged the Carson City Chamber to bring in 30 blood donors over the next two weeks beginning March 18 and ending March 30.
To kick off the event, Mayor Robert Crowell, Sheriff Kenny Furlong, District Attorney Neil Rombardo and Fire Chief Stacey Giomi will be the first to give blood at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, March 18.
United Blood Services continues to cite a critical need for blood donors to help those who need their services. Their current promotion is “Find the Hero in You,” and having our local heroes be the first to donate will set the bar for the many heroes in Carson City.
Refreshments will be provided by LA Bakery and all donors will receive a T-shirt.
To set up an appointment to donate blood, call the Carson City office at (775) 887-9111. United Blood Services is conveniently located at 256 E. Winnie Lane.
