Heading into the middle of the work work, activities around town include a yoga class offered through Carson Tahoe Health and Wellness, a midweek meditation series offered at Carson City Yoga, conversational Spanish classes at Partnership Carson City, Salsa dancing at Yaple's Ballroom, a presentation of "Valiant Women of The Vote" Mix and Mingle honoring the 19th Amendment at the Governor's Mansion, Ladies Night at Bella Vita Bistro, country and pop dancing at Carson Lanes, a safety workshop for women and much more. The Northern Nevada Women Lawyers Association and National Judicial College invite you to join us in celebration of the centennial anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment.
This is a mix-and-mingle style event catered by LA Bakery that will featuring remarks from Former Assembly Speaker Barbara Buckley, Lieutenant Governor Kate Marshall, and Judge Robin Wright. We may have additional remarks from distinguished guests.

$10 minimum suggested donation collected at the door. All donations will go to The Children's Cabinet.

Through the Smoke: Adele's owners discuss fire, their commitment to re-open

What's on the outside doesn't always reflect on what's going on inside. Perceptions are just that sometimes. There's usually a lot more going than meets the eye.

And that is the case with Cafe at Adele's following the March 28 fire that swept through but was mostly contained to the laundry room area of the iconic Carson City restaurant that sits on the corner of North Carson and John Street.

Eight Carson City restaurants join the Green Dining District on Carson Street

The nonprofit organization greenUp!, which provides environmental education to businesses, announced Wednesday that it has eight restaurants so far that will be part of the Green Dining District pilot program on Carson Street in Carson City.

Carson High School will open its doors a little wider and longer Sept. 13 for a unique Back-to-School Night event.
More than 25 local community service providers will line the hallways of Senator Square for a community fair beginning at 4:30 p.m. The fair will highlight Carson City activities, family friendly events and provide information and screenings for a variety of local health services.

Bike to work week comes to a close, and there is one heck of a party to celebrate. Leave a little extra time this morning to get to work safely, and get some free coffee if you're sporting a helmet. This evening, McFadden Plaza will be filled with riders, games, raffles, and music courtesy of the Whitehats. Stick close to downtown and you'll be rewarded with World Dance at Comma Coffee, or some laughs with Comedian Milt Abel at Carson Comedy inside the Carson Nugget.

For those taking their bike to work today, Comma Coffee and LA Bakery are offering a cup of joe on your way. Pedal your way to the Max Casino for the Grand Opening of the Black Bear Diner; you’re going to need your strength to get through this day full of fun stuff to do. The Nevada State Fair is in full swing and a street dance at the Pavilion starts at 6 p.m.

Pie to the Rescue pies available to order at Carson High School Craft Fair

Northern Nevada Dream Center has teamed up with Carson High School's Culinary Arts program to help feed families. You can support the Culinary Arts team by letting them bake your Thanksgiving pies. You can order them Friday and Saturday at the Carson High School Craft Fair.

Carson City community members flooded downtown for Taste of Downtown Saturday evening with their appetites ready to taste the delicious foods prepared by local businesses. Almost 40 Years and Still Making Memories: Little River Band Headlines Concert Under the Stars

If these titles ring a bell or you find yourself humming the songs, Concert Under the Stars, A Benefit for The Greenhouse Project is where you will want to be Wednesday, July 9, as Little River Band headlines the sixth annual event at Cafe at Adele’s in Carson City.

For nearly 40 years, the band has produced song after song that not only has done well commercially, but has been woven into a generation’s memories.

This year's seminar is packed with speakers not to miss. Catered breakfast from LA Bakery and lunch at the Carson City High School Greenhouse (following a tour), catered by the students at the Culinary Arts Program is included for the all day seminar for $75.

Carson City Bike Month Bigger Than Ever

May is Bike Month in Carson City, and that means more bike riders out and about, commuting, or riding for fun. In honor of National Bike Month, Muscle-Powered, Citizens for a Walkable and Bikeable Carson City has developed a full schedule of events for 2013, including the Tour de Carson May 5- a 30-mile bike ride for more advanced riders, along with two Family Cruise rides, one on May 15 at 6 p.m. starting at Telegraph Square, and a second Ride with a Vet on May 18 in conjunction with Chapter 388 of the Vietnam Veterans of America.

Bingo party tonight at Carson Middle School; more than $7,000 in prizes to be won

UPDATE: Tonight is your night, Carson City. Free admission for all, plenty of chili and refreshments and an opportunity to win some pretty impressive prizes are in store at Carson Middle School beginning at 6 p.m. during its huge Family Bingo and Chili Night party.

With well over $7,000 in total prizes to be won in 15 exciting bingo games, the Carson City community will see the mother of all bingo parties, organizers promise. Recently added to the prize list are:

Carson City mayor, sheriff, DA and fire chief to give blood in challenge

The local office of United Blood Services has challenged the Carson City Chamber to bring in 30 blood donors over the next two weeks beginning March 18 and ending March 30.

To kick off the event, Mayor Robert Crowell, Sheriff Kenny Furlong, District Attorney Neil Rombardo and Fire Chief Stacey Giomi will be the first to give blood at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, March 18.

Prize list grows for Carson Middle School Bingo Night and Chili cook off annual blockbuster

The Carson Middle School Parent Teachers Association will hold its annual Family Bingo and Chili Night fundraiser, set for Friday night, March 22, 6 p.m. at the middle school's Cafetorium on King Street. Want to know how popular this event is? Well, last year more than 500 attended.
