Carson City sheriff's deputies make obstruction, DUI and warrant arrests
A 33 year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday morning in area of South Carson and Tenth streets for misdemeanor suspicion of obstruction, hitchhiking and being a drunk pedestrian, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy said.
According to the arrest report, law enforcement observed the subject walking southbound along the 1100 block of Carson Street. A Sheriff's deputy made contact with the man and alcohol could be smelled coming from him.
When asked for his identification, the subject became verbally aggressive with the officer and refused to provide the requested information, the report said.
The deputy reported that the subject began yelling obscenities at him and acted disorderly. Once identified, dispatch advised multiple active warrants, including probation violation and misdemeanor failure to appears out of Pahrump and Minnesota, the report said.
He was arrested at 12:07 a.m., handcuffed and transported to the Carson City Jail for booking where he provided a preliminary breath test of .092 percent breath alcohol content, the report said. Bail: $300.
— A 31 year-old Carson City man was arrested early Saturday morning at 1:24 a.m. in the area of Molly Drive and Millennium Terrrace for misdemeanor obstruction, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy said.
According the arrest report, law enforcement was dispatched to the area on reports of two intoxicated subjects who were arguing. Both had been on bicycles, dispatch reported, and one subject had fallen in the street.
There was a subsequent foot chase between a deputy and one of the subjects upon arrival, the report said. He was eventually detained and placed in handcuffs, but not before resisting arrest. He smelled strongly of alcohol, the deputy's report said.
A preliminary breath test showed breath alcohol content of .302 percent, the report said.
Before being booked into the Carson City Jail, the suspect was taken to the hospital for medical clearance due to the high amount of alcohol in his system, the report said.
While there, the suspect had kicked at a medical staff member, the report said.
Once medically cleared, the suspect was taken to jail. Bail: $300.
— A 54 year-old Carson City man was arrested early Saturday morning at 3:11 a.m. in area of Roop Street and College Parkway for misdemeanor first offense DUI alcohol, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy said.
According to the arrest report, law enforcement made a traffic stop on the suspect's vehicle after observing its tires crossing over a double yellow line and a solid line.
Upon making contact, the deputy observed watery, blood-shot eyes and slow, slurred speech. The suspect admitted to have consumed alcohol, four beers, the report said.
The suspect consented to a field sobriety test which showed signs of impairment and a preliminary breath test demonstrated breath alcohol content of .200 percent.
He was then handcuffed and transported to the Carson City Jail for booking. Bail: $1,000.
— A 19 year-old Carson City man was arrested late Friday night at 11:00 p.m. in the 800 block of East Musser Street for an active contempt of court bench warrant issued out of the Carson City Justice Court, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy said.
According to the report, the suspect was transported to the Carson City Jail by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. A records check confirmed the active warrant. Bail: $951.
— A 27 year-old Carson City man was arrested early Saturday morning at 4:56 a.m. in the area of Stewart and Adams streets for misdemeanor violation of a suspended sentence, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy said.
According to the report, the suspect was stopped by law enforcement after he attempted to cross Adams street. A Sheriff's deputy observed him to be unsteady on his feet.
Upon making contact with the suspect, the deputy observed the suspect had watery, blood-shot eyes and thick, slurred speech. There was also a strong odor of alcohol coming from him, the report said.
The suspect admitted to consuming alcohol earlier that evening.
A records check through dispatch showed the suspect was active in the Department of Alternative Sentencing (DAS) with a no alcohol consumption clause, the report said.
A preliminary breath test was consented to and showed breath alcohol content of .207 percent, the report said. DAS requested the deputy arrest the suspect for violation of his suspended sentences.
He was transported to the Carson City Jail and booked. Bail: $1,000.
