Clean Dried Processing expands Lyon County facility in Silver Springs
Northern Nevada Development Authority is proud to announce that LaBudde Group, through their Nevada subsidiary Clean Dried Processing, has expanded to Northern Nevada. Clean Dried Processing has opened a 150,000 square foot dual purpose manufacturing and distribution facility in Silver Springs.
Since 1907 the Grafton, Wisconsin based LaBudde Group has specialized in processing clean food waste into dried ingredients for premium high-end livestock feed and pet food. Operating in ten locations around the country, LaBudde processes anything from apple pulp to wheat grain and everything in between. According to their mission statement, "LaBudde shall strive to be the market leader in the global development of turning waste and by-products to value-added consumer products."
When Clean Dried Processing's new facility begins operation in June the plant will be used to dry, grind, package, and distribute several different product offerings. Lyon County will greatly benefit from the 10 to 20 jobs Clean Dried Processing plans to create in the first year with the potential to further expand in the future. Lyon County currently has the highest unemployment rate in the state at 12% (December 2013), and Silver Springs has a median income of only 64.65% of the national average, and a poverty rate of 11.6 percent.
Lyon County Commissioner Vida Keller said "It is great to see companies like Clean Dried Processing recognize the incredible things Silver Springs and Lyon County have to offer. Silver Springs truly is 'in the middle of everywhere.' I am very excited anytime a new company opens their doors in the area because the jobs that are created means food, housing, and a better quality of life for the residence of our local area."
Rob Hooper, Executive Director of NNDA, said "This will be a big boost to the Silver Springs area. Not only will Clean Dried Processing be creating jobs, they will act as a catalyst for other companies to make the decision to move or expand to the area. This expansion has the potential to shape Silver Springs for years to come."
NNDA would like to thank the lead broker, Mike Hoeck of NAI Alliance in Reno, representing the Labudde Group and both Brad Bonkowski of Coldwell Banker Premier Brokers and Brad Lancaster of Miller and Associate representing the seller for all their work in securing the real estate transaction. NNDA would also like to extend a special thanks to NV Energy and other regional partners for their assistance in ensuring the project was a success.
