Carson City man arrested for lewdness with a child, stolen credit cards, obstruction and more

A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the area of 2nd and Curry on four felony counts including two fugitive from justice warrants for lewdness with a child and obstruction, one count of using a false ID to avoid prosecution, and one count of obtaining or possessing credit cards without consent.

According to the report, Gary Pedrucci was arrested after Special Enforcement Team deputies were traveling south on Curry Street and saw an SUV partially in the roadway for north and south traffic.

Deputies stopped the vehicle and contacted four adult occupants who were all able to provide a valid state ID except a male seated in the back seat.

The man said he had just got off work and didn’t have any ID on him. The driver was cited for traffic violations, and the unidentified man said his name was Michael Navarro and provided a birthdate and social security number.

Dispatch was unable to confirm this information and said they had no match for that information. The man however did not change his story.

The driver said that the man lived with her, but she only knew him as Mike and had no further information. Deputies asked if she would like to return to their apartment and get his ID, but she gave an excuse on why that wouldn’t work.

Deputies called the work number provided and they said they had no employee by that name.

Deputies noticed a tattoo on his neck and asked what the initials stood for, and deputies were able to determine his last name based on the tattoo.

Deputies ran a search for the last name and a Gary Pedrucci came back with warrants. The man admitted to being Pedrucci and he was taken into custody.

Deputies searched his person and located a wallet hidden in his pants that contained four credit cards with different names on them, none of them being Gary Pedrucci. He also had three checks that were written out in his name, one of which had no check number listed and the account holder’s name was handwritten in.

Deputies called the number associated with the checks, who said that Pedrucci had stolen the checks and the credit cards from himself and his wife, who is Pedrucci’s mother. The man said that Pedrucci is a drug addict and he was happy the deputies had apprehended him.

He was taken into custody on the two warrants, one for lewdness with a child and one for obstruction, along with possessing stolen credit cards and using a fake name to avoid prosecution.

No Bail.

— A 59-year-old Placerville man and a 60-year-old Placerville woman were arrested in the 500 block of N. Carson Street for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the report, Legrant Gerald Romero and Dianna Lynn Romero were arrested while deputies were patrolling in the area of a local casino. They observed a man standing at the rear of a vehicle and appeared to be removing the license plate of the vehicle.

Deputies stopped to ask what he was doing and he said he was attempting to put a hand held flash light above his license plate as the light was not working.

Deputies asked if the vehicle was his, and he said it belonged to his son. Another deputy arrived on scene with a K-9 unit, who conducted a free air exterior sniff of the vehicle and gave a positive alert.

Deputies found a clear plastic baggie with methamphetamine inside a black leather jacket. On Romero’s person they also located two methamphetamine pipes with a thick white coating of methamphetamine inside.

They took both Romero and the female passenger, later identified as Dianna, into custody. Underneath her seat they also located a plastic baggie with a used methamphetamine pipe with a large amount of residue still inside.

Inside a purse in the rear of the vehicle they located a metal spoon with a white powder substance on it, which tested positive for methamphetamine.

The pair was taken into custody without issue.

Bail: $3,637

According to the report, deputies were conducting a business check at a local casino when they noticed a man slumped over at a gaming machine, seemingly asleep. Deputies recognized the man and conducted a warrants check and learned he was on Department of Alternative Sentencing supervision with a no alcohol clause.

Deputies attempted to wake the man up, which they did with difficulty. Deputies asked if he was okay. He responded with slurred speech and said he was fine.

Deputies smelled a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person. In his right pants pocket there was a pint sized bottle of a clear, alcoholic beverage. Deputies asked if he’d been drinking and he said yes.
