Watch it Live: Carson City Shade Tree Council
The Carson Shade Tree Council meets tonight beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Sierra Room of the Carson City Community Center, 851 East William Street. Go here for the agenda and here to watch it live.
The Shade Tree Council consists of seven members serving two year terms and meets on the first Wednesday of every other month. Roger Moellendorf, Parks and Recreation Director, is the Staff Liaison to the Shade Tree Council.
The Shade Tree Council ordinance establishes policies, regulations and standards necessary to ensure Carson City will realize the benefit provided by its community forest. Some of the provisions of this ordinance are: establish and maintain tree cover on public and private lands; maintain public trees in a safe and healthy condition; establish appropriate diversity in tree species; and promote conservation of healthy trees.
