Douglas County authorities ask for public's help in identifying suspects in theft cases
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying suspects wanted in connection with separate theft cases at the Walmart store near Highway 395 and Topsy Lane in Carson City and on Grant Street in Gardnerville.
In the first case, these two persons of interest shown in the photo above, are wanted for questioning for a Jan. 28, attempted theft. It happened at around 7:25 p.m when the two males entered the store and went to the electronics department, said Douglas County Sheriff's Sgt. Pat Brooks.
The male wearing the “Vans” sweatshirt gathered several items from the shelves and placed them in a shopping cart. The other male exited the store and returned to the vehicle in the attached photo and waited near the rear exit doors.
Store personnel approached the male as he was walking toward the rear door. When the store personnel identified himself, the male ran out the rear door with the shopping cart full of electronics. The store personnel confronted the male at which time a fight occurred and the male ran to the waiting vehicle, said Brooks.
The other incident involves a theft on Feb. 10, at 4:40 p.m. It involves a male adult who appeared to be in his mid to late 20s, approximately 5'06" - 5'08" tall, of stocky build, and wore a blue baseball hat, black jacket, purple shirt, and blue jeans entered the Walmart store on Grant Street in Gardnerville.
The male then selected a black "Mongoose" mountain bike which was of a newer model that has large "fat" tires, and began walking out the door. Store personnel attempted to stop the male and ascertain of they had a receipt for the bicycle and as he exited the store, rode away.
A reward is being offered to anyone with information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of the suspect(s). Your identity is not needed and you will remain anonymous.
