Carson City man jailed after taking his dislike for police patrol cars to another level
A 51-year-old Carson City man who made it abundantly clear he doesn't like police patrol cars parked near his home, was arrested Sunday and faces gross misdemeanor charges including assault on an officer and a blatant misuse of dialing 911.
According to the arrest report a Carson City Sheriff's Office deputy responded at around 7 p.m. to the 1400 block of Stanford Drive on a larceny report. As the officer left his patrol car to retrieve a statement form, he heard someone nearby shout the following: "Get this this f****** piece of s***, f******* cop car the f*** off my property."
The officer observed the man doing the yelling as standing next to a home. From there the bitterness ensued.
The man, who had been drinking, began to yell, this time walking toward the officer along the city sidewalk and then moving next to the patrol car, identifying himself and saying, in very unflattering ways, how much he hated patrol cars parked in front of his home, according to the arrest report.
The officer told the man that he would be done shortly and that he would leave as soon as he was finished with what he was working on, which was a report from a neighbor regarding a larceny, the report states.
The man walked back to his property and again began to shout at the officer. The officer advised the man that he could not stand on his property and shout profanities that rang through the neighborhood.
While the man didn't go as far as telling the officer to go f*** himself, the man did start up his shouting again. He yelled the following: "You f****** cops are always parking your f******* cars in front of my house."
The officer told the man that he was causing a disturbance and should go back inside his home. The officer, again, told the man he was working on a call at a neighbor's home, that he needed to get the job done and then he would leave, the arrest report states.
The man apologized and then went back inside his house.
The officer went about his business responding on the original call. When he returned outside he saw the man standing in his front yard. Again.
As the officer walked to his car, radio dispatch informed him that a man had just called 911 to report an "abandoned police car" that had been parked in front of his house "for over an hour."
The man told the officer he had personally called 911 and then shouted the following: "I told you to get that f****** car out from in front of my house. You can't park that piece of s*** in front of my house."
The officer informed the man the patrol car was parked legally on the paved city street and that he would move the car when he was done taking information from the report nearby.
The man walked in front of the patrol car up to the officer and balled up his fists. The officer told the man to stay back and to not come any closer, the arrest report states.
The man told the officer: "What are you gonna do about it?" and continued toward the officer with clinched fists and in a fighting position. The officer grabbed the man before he was about to be assaulted, turned him around and placed him in cuffs. He was taken to jail. Bail: $5,654.
