Carson City sheriff's arrest log: Man turns himself in on drug trafficking charge
A 38-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday on a felony charge of trafficking a controlled substance schedule 1, a sheriff’s deputy said.
Rafael Alvarado-Estrada was taken into custody at the Carson City Sheriff’s Office at 12:20 p.m. after he received word from his family that detectives were looking for him and turned himself in, according to the deputy booking report. Bail: $100,000.
Other arrests: A 34-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday evening on a felony charge of violating her probation, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.
Megan Michelle Germain was taken into custody at 10:14 p.m. for being out after an 8 p.m. curfew set by Nevada Probation and Parole. According to the arrest report, Ms. Germain was walking east on Long Street near Fall Street when she was stopped by a deputy with the Carson City Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Team in an unmarked vehicle and is being held on no bail.
— A 36-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday on two felony warrants for unlawful use of a controlled substance and conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substance Act. Vicente Hernandez, already in custody within the county jail, was booked on the additional charges by sheriff’s deputies at 11:00 a.m. Bail: $20,000.
— A 28-year-old Gardnerville man was arrested Friday at 9:12 p.m. for misdemeanor contempt of court at the sheriff’s office on East Musser Street after turning himself into authorities and is being held on no bail.
— A 23-year-old female transient was arrested Friday at 5:31 p.m. for misdemeanor domestic battery. According to the arrest report, the female was already in custody at the detention center on East Musser Street. Bail: $3,000.
— A 48-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday on a misdemeanor warrant for domestic battery at his home on East Willow Street at 9:39 a.m. Bail: $3,000.
— A 22-year-old Sparks man was arrested Friday at 5:31 p.m. for a misdemeanor violation of condition of probation warrant. According to the arrest report, the man was already in custody at the detention center on East Musser Street. Bail: $3,000.
— A 35-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday at 5:17 p.m. for a misdemeanor failure to obey citation warrant near Fleischmann and North Carson streets after deputies responded to a suspicious persons report. Bail: $1,070.
— A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday on a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant. A landlord called sheriff’s deputies at approximately 12:50 p.m. concerned a person they had previously evicted was inside the apartment on South Saliman Drive. Upon arrival, deputies were pointed toward a vehicle leaving the apartments as the possible suspect. According to the arrest report, deputies conducted a traffic stop and placed the man into custody after confirming the warrant through dispatch. Bail: $855.
— A 48-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday at 6:07 a.m. in the 1100 block of Fairview Drive for two misdemeanor failure to appear traffic warrants after deputies were called to respond to suspicious people in the rear parking lot of a business located there. Bail: $780.
— A 36-year-old Carnelian Bay, Calif. man was arrested Friday at 6:31 p.m. for a misdemeanor failure to appear warrant out of Tahoe Justice Court in the 1600 block of East William Street, a sheriff’s deputy said. According to the arrest report, a traffic stop was conducted due to the vehicle he was in had a camper with no tail lights and no visible license plate, and the outstanding warrant was subsequently discovered. Bail: $578.
— A 48-year-old Oakland, Calif. man was arrested Friday at 4:00 p.m. for misdemeanor soliciting without a permit at North Saliman and E. Robinson streets.
According to the arrest report, deputies observed the suspect approach a car and handed the occupants oranges in exchange for cash. The suspect claimed to not speak English, and no Spanish interpreter was available for dispatch, so he was transported to the detention center in lieu of a citation. Bail: $500.
