NHP identifies Dayton woman in Thursday’s Highway 50 fatal crash
The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified a 60-year-old Dayton woman as the victim in a fatal crash that happened Thursday on Highway 50 in Dayton.
Nancy Lynn Wise-Ramey died of injuries sustained in the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene, said NHP Trooper Matt McLaughlin.
On Thursday at approximately 1:15 p.m., NHP troopers responded to the two-vehicle crash in Dayton on Highway 50 near the intersection of Retail Road.
Preliminary investigation shows that a black 1999 Ford Expedition SUV was traveling eastbound on Highway 50, west of Retail Road, said McLaughlin. A white 2006 Honda Odyssey minivan was traveling westbound on Highway 50, west of Retail Road.
The driver of the black Expedition allowed the vehicle to cross from the eastbound lanes into the westbound lanes. The front of the black Expedition struck the front of the white Honda minivan in the westbound right hand travel lane, according to NHP.
The driver of the Honda, Nancy Wise-Ramey, died at the scene. The driver of the Ford Expedition was flown via CareFlight to Renown in Reno with serious injuries. There were no other occupants in either the black Ford Expedition or the white Honda Odyssey.
