Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong updates us on the 2014 crime rates and public safety. For the past two years, the overall crime rate has trended down in Carson City, he reports.
Among areas the sheriffs office is continuing to focus on is burglary, gang activity, assault and battery cases, and pedestrian accidents in crosswalks.
Furlong also advised of the rash of home burglaries and what you can do to be proactive in reporting any suspicious activities.
To report any suspicious activity, call the Office Communications Center at 775-887-2014 or 775-887-2008. Anyone with information in reference to the burglaries are asked to contact Lt. Humphrey, Detective Legros or Detective Hatley at the Sheriff’s Office at 775-887-2020 ext. 41400. If you see a home invasion in progress, call 911.
